The Rocky Horror Show is the original musical with music, lyrics, and book by Richard O’Brien. A humorous tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the late 1940s through the early 70’s. The musical tells the story of a newly engaged couple getting caught in the storm and arriving in the home of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. He unveils his new creation, a sort of Frankenstein style monster in the form of physically perfect muscle man named Rocky…complete with blond hair and a tan.
This is a show that many folks are incredibly familiar with, so we are asking that if you are interested in auditioning for a specific character, please come prepared to sing a few bars from one of their songs from the show. If you are interested in ensemble only, feel free to sing a song that shows your range. We will have cold reads from the script. This is the original Rocky Horror Show, so it does differ a bit from the movie. That being said, we want to see full character, and please, make the part your own. There will be some dancing with our choreographer, so come in comfortable clothes.
We also need musicians on the following instruments: Synthesizer/Keyboard, Bb Tenor Saxophone, Guitar, Bass Guitar and
Drums. For musicians that are auditioning for the band: We will be using music scores, so reading music would be helpful, but may not be a necessity depending on the player and the instrument. We would love to hear a short pre-prepared piece of your choosing. Show us what you’ve got, and rock it out!!
