All four of this season's Main Stage shows - just $40!

Theatre of Dare is preparing for its 29th Season this summer - and we want you to see all of it! From now through Labor Day, we're offering season ticket packages for the price of just $40 - that's $11 off the door price! Here are the productions we've got on tap for the upcoming season on the mainstages:

Nightfall with Edgar Allen Poe - Edgar Allan Poe stands alone in the flickering darkness of his mind, trying desperately to convince himself -- and us -- that he's not mad. The spell he weaves brings us a highly theatrical adaptation of five tales Poe himself considered his best: "The Raven," "The Fall of the House of Usher," "The Cask of Amontillado", "The Pit and the Pendulum," and "The Tell-Tale Heart." Enter the world of Poe and check your heartbeat at the door. (October 18-27, Lost Colony Soundstage)

A World War II Radio Christmas - This moving holiday show recreates the experience of attending a recording of a 1944 radio show broadcast on Christmas Eve during World War II. Using period songs and stories inspired by actual veterans, World War II Radio Christmas transports the audience to another time, brought to you by such generous sponsors as Vaseline Hair Tonic and Ipana Toothpaste. An inspiring look at strength in the face of hardship, this play is a reminder of the importance of coming together for the holidays. (December 12-15, Roanoke Island Festival Park Indoor Film Theater)

Mame (Musical) - Mame Dennis's eccentric, bohemian lifestyle is interrupted when her late brother's son is entrusted to her care. But rather than adopt to any societal standards about child rearing, money-making and romance - Mame does everything with her own dramatic flair. “Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!” That’s the motto of Mame Dennis, one of musical theatre’s all-time greatest heroines, in this brassy, tuneful, hilarious and touching adaptation of Patrick Dennis’s bestseller, Auntie Mame. (February 21-March 1, Roanoke Island Festival Park Indoor Film Theater)

Unnecessary Farce - Two cops. Three crooks. Eight doors. Go. In a cheap motel room, an embezzling mayor is supposed to meet with his female accountant, while in the room next door, two undercover cops wait to catch the meeting on videotape. But there's some confusion as to who's in which room, who's being videotaped, who's taken the money, who's hired a hit man, and why the accountant keeps taking off her clothes. (April 17-26, Roanoke Island Festival Park Film Theatre)
