KITTY HAWK - Theatre of Dare is inviting the community to celebrate the magic of
musical theatre with its fundraiser, Broadway by the Beach, a lively salute to Broadway
classics and hidden gems. The show will take the stage at the theater in Kitty Hawk on
January 3, with performances at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Featuring musical numbers performed by 17 talented local artists, Broadway by the
Beach showcases songs from beloved Broadway hits—along with a few surprises sure
to delight theater fans of all ages.

The production is written and directed by Evan Tillett and Damon Horak, self-proclaimed
“musical nerds” who share a deep love for Broadway and the local arts scene. Tillett
and Horak will also serve as hosts for the event.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will support capital improvements at Theatre of Dare,
including upgrades to lighting, sound, and signage, helping enhance future
performances and audience experiences.

“This is a labor of love,” says Tillett. “We both love Broadway and we both love Theatre
of Dare, and using classic show tunes to improve performances on the Outer Banks is a
natural fit.”

“I continue to be amazed at the level of musical talent we have in our area,” adds Horak,
who has also directed recent local productions of The Drowsy Chaperone and The
Rocky Horror Show.
