Theatre of Dare Does the Time Warp Again With A Rocky Horror Return

KITTY HAWK - Get ready to put on your fishnets and grab your props — The Rocky Horror
Show is back on the Outer Banks! Theatre of Dare will be taking the stage with Richard
O’Brien’s cult-classic musical from October 31 to November 9 at its Kitty Hawk theater, just in time for Halloween thrills.
This will be T.O.D.’s third production of the wildly popular show, following sold-out runs
in 2018 and 2022. This year’s production also celebrates the 50th anniversary of the
iconic 1975 film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which has captivated audiences for
decades with its outrageous characters, campy humor, and unforgettable music.
Fan favorite Stuart Parks III will once again don the corset and pearls as the flamboyant
Dr. Frank N. Furter. “I just can’t resist getting into those boots and that corset one more
time!” Parks laughs.
Joining him on stage are Mike Blanchard and Adara Huls as sweethearts Brad and
Janet, Kelsey Thompson as Riff Raff, Betsy Head as Magenta, Elise Rumschlag as
Columbia, and Nick Oprea as the muscle-bound Rocky.
Director Damon Horak returns to lead the production and promises both nostalgia and
novelty. “The music will be familiar, but there will be some fun new surprises and plot
twists in store!”
True to Rocky Horror tradition, audience participation will be part of the fun. Goodie
bags will be available for purchase at the theater for those eager to shout, toss, and
sing along.
Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. October 31 and November 1, 6, 7, and 8, with 2
p.m. matinees on November 2 and 9.
In addition, the November 6 performance will be a special benefit show to celebrate
Dare Arts’ 50th Anniversary, featuring an audience raffle for an authentic Rocky Horror
Show board game and a framed poster of The Rocky Horror Picture Show featuring
actor Tim Curry.
”Oh the antici-pation! We are thrilled to partner with our friends at Theatre of Dare for
“The Rocky Horror Show,” said Dare Arts Executive Director Jessica Sands.
An additional five tickets were added to each day of production. You may purchase
these tickets here — but act fast, as performances are expected to
sell out.
Please note: This production is rated R for strong language and sexual themes and may
not be suitable for all audiences.
