Porkchop Productions' Stacey Maxwell returns to Theatre of Dare for six weeks this winter!
During that time, she will be offering a variety of Winter Workshop Classes.
Enrollment in these classes is extremely limited, with a maximum of 15 students per course.
So if any of these interest you or your children, please enroll and pay today to secure your child's spot. Prices listed are for the entire six weeks of the workshop.

All supplies that will be needed for each of these classes will be included in the course fee. And then, at the end of the six weeks, on February 15th, we will have a day of demonstration for each class to show what they've learned.

Character Creation With Puppets!
Delve into the world of character development through puppetry, covering vocal styles, temperament, backstory, dialogue, and more! Our amazing puppet collection will offer endless opportunities for creation and collaboration!

Making Magic Through Masks
Get your theatre skills on point!! Using masks from Londons renowned Trestle Theatre, students will explore the power of movement, non-verbal interaction, and silent storytelling. This intensive focuses on the importance of body language in the performing arts!

Introduction to
Voice Acting
Learn the techniques for creating voices for cartoons, video games, audio books, and more!
From vocal placement, script interpretation, diction, and character coaching, participants will come out with a variety of vocal characters to enhance their resume, and the tools they need to become part of the world of voiceovers!

Beat It!
An Intro to Bucket Drumming
Participants will create, design, and learn to play their own Bucket Drums! From the history of drumming, to how Bucket Drumming became the “busking phenomenon” it is today! Warm up your chops, learn some cool riffs, and let your rhythm shine!

6TH - 12TH GRADES
One-on-One
Monologue Sessions
These specialized sessions help to guide older students in selecting roles that match their talents. Participants will receive original monologues, one comedic and one dramatic, written and tailored just for them. With focus on mastering the pieces, paying close attention to beats, timing, volume, and other essential skills required for a successful audition.
(Six sessions per student - Participants, and their families, will be able to work with Stacey to find the hour-long times and dates that best suit their schedule.)

ABOUT STACEY MAXWELL
A native of South Carolina, Stacey holds a BA in speech/drama with an emphasis in children’s theatre from Columbia College. Throughout her career, Stacey has worked for many professional children’s theatre companies, is an active voice over artist, and spent six summers at The Lost Colony Outdoor Drama, where she held several positions including two years in the role of Agona. Stacey founded Porkchop Productions Children’s Theatre in 1991, and serves as Artistic Director, playwright, teaching artist and actor. Stacey received the Career Achievement Award from Columbia College in 2014, along with the Evelyn Russell Layton Award in 1992, and the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2015 from The Lost Colony.
